Explore Malaysian Father's Day celebrations, from making Ayah's favourite dish to a family trip to Cameron Highlands. Honour our unsung heroes and express love this Father's Day. Happy Father's Day!

Hello everyone,

As Father's Day approaches, we are once again reminded of the love and care our fathers have showered upon us. Their strong, yet often unspoken, love forms the backbone of our families, their guidance leading us forward in life. Today, let's take a moment to recognise our fathers - the unsung heroes of our lives.

Fathers, or 'Ayah/Bapa/Abah/Dad/Papa/Appa' as we affectionately call them here in Malaysia, play an essential and sometimes underrated role in our lives. They are the pillars of strength we lean on, the voice of wisdom that guides us, and the shoulder we find comfort on.

So, this Father's Day, let's show our Fathers how much we appreciate him. Here are some heartwarming, uniquely Malaysian ways to celebrate our amazing fathers.

Prepare Ayah's Favourite Local Delight

What better way to start the day than by preparing Father's favourite Malaysian dish? Be it Nasi Lemak, Char Kway Teow, or Roti Canai, a meal prepared with love is sure to touch his heart. Make it a family activity where everyone participates - it's not just about the food, but the shared experience of cooking together that counts.

Movie Time with Dad

There's nothing like a good film to bring the family together. With an array of films now showing in Malaysian cinemas, there's something for every dad out there. For fans of action, drama, and thrillers, "Red Line" is a new release about a former racer turned ambulance driver. For fathers who enjoy biographies and dramas, "Buya Hamka," a biopic about the life of Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, an Indonesian philosopher, writer, lecturer, politician, and journalist, is a must-watch. And of course, for the superhero dads out there, "The Flash," a new release in which the DC Comics character travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, could be an exciting choice or any other hot movies right now such as “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse”, “Polis Evo 3” and “Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts”.

Outdoor Fun at a Durian Farm

If your father is a Durian lover (and let's be honest, who isn't?), consider a trip to a local Durian farm. Places like the Karak Organic Durian Farm offer guided tours where you can learn about Durian farming and even enjoy a feast of the 'King of Fruits'. It's a fun way to spend the day while showing appreciation for our fathers' tastes.

A Serene Walk in the Park

Sometimes, the simplest gestures mean the most. Take a leisurely stroll with Ayah in one of Malaysia's beautiful parks such as the Perdana Botanical Gardens. This is a perfect time to talk, share, and most importantly, listen. Sometimes, all our fathers need is our time and our ears.

A Family Outing to Remember

There's nothing quite like a family outing to create lasting memories. One such place that promises a day of enjoyment for the whole family is the Cameron Highlands. Known for its cool hilltop climate, this area is a perfect retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. Enjoy the fresh mountain air, visit expansive tea plantations, go strawberry picking at agricultural farms, and hike some of the best trails in the country.

This Father's Day, let's make it a point to tell our fathers how much they mean to us. To all the Ayahs out there - we see your sacrifices, we appreciate your efforts, and most importantly, we love you. You are our heroes, today and every day.

Let's celebrate this Father's Day, the Malaysian way.

Happy Father's Day!

With Love<3
